Tennis Recreation at Desert Highlands isn't just about golf.  Desert Highlands Racquet Club is a premier facility offering our members world class instruction.  If you are looking for an active tennis community, competitive games, or social activities, Desert Highlands has an option for you. The new tennis center opened in February 2000, and it has a beautiful clubhouse with a lounge area and fully stocked Tennis Shop.  There are 13 tennis courts - four grass courts, four clay courts, two Nova Pro Bounce courts and three hard surface LayKold courts.   The courts have been designed to blend harmoniously into their desert settings.  No other community in Arizona features such a range of courts. There are some 150 club-ranked tennis players at Desert Highlands, roughly 100 of whom play regularly.  Tennis Director, Eric Anderson, organizes frequent member socials and tournaments, as well as men's and ladies Inter-Club play.  Meghann Shaughnessy and other WTA and ATP touring pros are frequently seen on the clay and grass courts at Desert Highlands in preparation for Grand Slam events such as the French Open and Wimbledon.
